MENTAL HEALTH OF STUDENTS

MENTAL HEALTH OF STUDENTS

The importance of mental health in students is a thing which still needs a lot of concentration. It is a matter which is still not discussed a lot.

Introduction:

It includes psychological, emotional and social well-being of a person. It can affect the way of how a person feel, think or act. Any problem in mental health can affect a person, more than other medical disorders. A poor mental health can lead to many other problems. It can lead to many heart diseases. But there is still another horrible act which can occur due to this specially in students i.e., Suicide.
According to National Alliance:

Mental health is an incredibly important part of overall health. With a growing number of Americans experiencing mental health symptoms, we need to join together to advocate for improving our nation’s mental health care system.

Causes of poor mental health in students:

There are many reasons which can lead to poor mental health in students. Some of these are:

  • Poverty
  • Debt
  • Pressure of good grades by parents
  • Loneliness
  • Drug addiction
  • Childhood abuse or neglect
  • Poor physical health
  • Long-term stress
Poor mental health, in students, is increasing day-by-day. This problem is not being addressed properly specially in developing countries. The major problem in these countries is poverty and limited resources. Also, in these countries, mostly no importance is given to mental health, which is a major problem.

Poor mental health and suicide

Poor mental health, especially in students, is a major cause of suicide. Suicide is the second leading cause of deaths in teens. Over 4,800 students attempt suicide daily. This is a huge number, and it requires a lot of concentration because this also shows the level of stress and depression in students.

How to deal with this?

This problem should be dealt properly to help students. Several steps should be taken in this regard, which are:
  • Parents should not pressurize their children which can lead to their poor mental health
  • Government should try to help students to pay their fees of college or university
  • Students should eat good and nutritious diet and perform exercise regularly to avoid any physical disorder or disease

Conclusion

Poor mental health in students should be addressed openly to help the students who suffer silently. Certain policies should be made to solve this problem. Proper counselling should be provided to students as well as their parents to eradicate this problem from the society.

THANK YOU!

Here’s another one, that particularly applies to those people (including me) experiencing the brain fog that comes with age: exercise changes the brain in ways in which defend memory and thinking skills. In a study done at the University of Canadian, researchers found that regular aerobics, the type that gets your heart and your sweat glands pumping, seems to spice up the scale of the hippocampus, the brain space concerned in verbal memory and learning. Resistance coaching, balance and muscle toning exercises didn't have similar results. The finding comes at an important time. Researchers say one new case of dementia is detected each
