The keto diet forces your body to use a different type of fuel. Instead of relying on glucose that comes from carbohydrates such as grains, legumes, vegetables, and fruits, the keto diet is based on ketone bodies, a type of fuel that our liver produces from stored fat.

  • In keto diet you deprive yourself of carbohydrates, even fewer than 20 to 50 grams of carbs per day.

  • Eating excessive protein can interfere with the process of ketosis.
